Hey there!

My name is Kat and this is the blog where I keep everything organized for my YouTube channel Hey, Katallina! . I've known I wanted to start a YouTube channel for a few months now, but up until the start of December I really wasn't sure how I wanted to focus my channel or what I wanted it to be about.

Then two things happened:

The good: I discovered the totally awesome world of super geeky subscription boxes and the wonderful YouTube community that has come together to enjoy them.

The Bad: My beloved Grandma Perry passed away after a 2.5 year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

It was while I was at her funeral that I got the push I needed to turn my ideas for this blog and channel into a reality. The minister conducting the service implored us all to use our time of loss as a chance to reflect, review and renew our own lives. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean for me to take him quite this literally.

But I ran a young and new adult book blog for nearly three years, and only closed that because I coould not keep up with the demands of writing 5-7 articles a week for it as I had in the past. I have arthritis in my wrists and fingers and it doesn't tend to play nice when I do that. I'd rather preserve my hands for writing my novels, gaming and eating.

Speaking of my hands, they're doing their annoying little pulse-y thing that is their way of telling me to shut up and post the two part "About Me" video I did where everything I'm talking about here, and what you can expect from my blog and channel, are covered in much more detail.

This is a picture of Jay and I at The Loaf 'n Ale Pub in Napanee last June. (2014) We were celebrating six years together. Jay and I met on an online game called Phantasy Star Universe. We currently play World of Warcraft on the Dalaran server as Dwarves named Avesh and Caitt. He will eventually be in videos on my channel when he drives down here from Pennsylvania.

Coco (left) and D'Argo (right). Coco is a Bichon x Shih Tzu mix ("Zu-chon") and D'Argo is a Schnauzer x Poodle mix ("Schnoodle"). Coco will turn 7 in April, and we lost D'Argo last year, shortly before his 10th birthday.

...And this is Maggie "MegaTude", the Schnuzer x Pug x Shih Tzu ("Schnug Tzu") puppy. This picture was taken at about 3 months old, but she's over 7 months old now. She's cute, cuddly, likes to jump on my lap and tries to eat everything. I'm gonna have to up my security because no toy or collectible I bring into my house will be safe from this fluffy little Land SharkNado otherwise!
